†HAMLET†
†
SHAKESPEARE
†
†Ophelia†
There is a willow grows
ascaunt the brook,
That shows his hoar
leaves in the glassy stream.
Therewith fantastic garlands
did she make
Of crow-flowers, nettles,
daisies, and long purples,
That liberal shepherds give
a grosser name,
But our cold maids
do dead men's fingers call them.
There on the pendant
boughs her crownet weeds
Clamb'ring to hang,
an envious sliver broke,
When down her weedy
trophies and herself
Fell in the weeping brook.
Her clothes spread wide,
And mermaid-like
a while they bore her up;
Which time she chanted
snatches of old lauds,
As one incapable
of her own distress,
Or like a creature native
and indued unto that element.
But long it could not be
Till that her garments,
heavy with their drink,
Pulled the poor wretch
from her melodious lay
To muddy death.

A question is posed Not to be answered by rote replies or pained looks
Circumstance dictates situational knowledge Teacher must listen
Student must apply Situational knowledge Circumstance dictates
Frustration, Failure, Lack of communication, Loss breeding contempt
Atop the threshold she sits listening to cries of anger and hurt
Not understanding Not contemplating; fear fed by tone, inflection
Will it ever stop, this futile game of errors? ...and if it does stop?
What then? Silence born of conscious antipathy? Cold indifference?
In time she retreats crossing the threshold to wait for an endless sleep

I did dress up for Halloween this year - though I didn't think I would.
It was all part of the disastrous celebration held at my place of work blogged about below.
Nothing goth, nothing in glaring poor taste - that was covered by the rest of my coworkers.
No, I simply wore leopard ears and gloves and my regular work attire. At first read you might find this innocuous enough, but in effect I was pulling the wool over the conservative sheep's eyes. You see, I did not go as a jungle cat, I went as a furry.
Yes, a FURRY. A subversive subculturish FURRY! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thanks to Johnny Ruin I thought I might add a bizarre string of words every so often in my kittenleftisthandcufflive prison blogs. Just to see what the search engine will stir up.
While you are here you might as well check out my other new fetishducklingthimblemyth link to hybridanglos blog. He is a decent human being and a skilled writer to boot.

I have gone absolutely mental.
My *lifestyle* comes into question because of a website I visit at work, yet these same people give second place in a Halloween costume competition to a man in BLACKFACE dressed as AUNT JEMIMA.
AUNT JEMIMA!
BLACKFACE!
"Hello, small town America?" ... "Yes, it's the 21st century calling." "You need to get your heads out of your collective asses, but first, if you don't mind, put out that blazing cross on the courthouse lawn and try reading the NEW TESTAMENT occasional ly." "It will make your journey a bit more comfortable - if not for you, then for the rest of us."
ASSHATS!

| What are you going to be for Halloween? |
| 10.28.04 (6:34 pm) |
|
Which Halloween Monster are you?
YOU ARE A VAMPIRE
Somewhere in your murky past, you were seduced to the dark side. You developed a fondness for velvet and dark fabrics, for long capes and dark red lipstick. You enjoy the evening, the shadow of the night. You tend to be sensual, and whether it's a new conquest or an old flame, a nibble on the neck is quite enticing.
Keep an eye open for the unbelieving, for those who treasure an early sunrise and have a wooden stake or two in their pockets. You never know when those bat-haters will track you down and put an end to your nocturnal pleasures!
Vampires have been in legend since the days of the Romans, but they really took off in popularity with the story Dracula by Bram Stoker, and the movie Nosferatu came out. In the 80s and 90s, the gothic movement really took hold and books, movies and TV shows about vampires abounded. One of the more famous movies was Interview with a Vampire starring Tom Cruise.
Here are some quotes from Interview to get you started:
Armand: They had forgotten the first lesson: that we must be powerful, beautiful, and without regret.
Lestat: Evildoers are easier, and they taste better.

|
20 Questions to a Better Personality
My Results
Wackiness: 24/100 Rationality: 60/100 Constructiveness: 50/100 Leadership: 26/100
- You are a SRDF--Sober Rational Destructive Follower. This makes you a Fountain of Knowledge.
You are cool, analytical, intelligent and completely unfunny. Sometimes you slice through conversation with a cutting observation that causes silence and sidelong glances. You make a strong and lasting impression on everyone you meet, the quality of which depends more on their personality than yours.
You may feel persecuted, as you can become a target for fun. Still, you are focused enough on your work and secure enough in your abilities not to worry overly.
You are productive and invaluable to those you work for. You are loyal, steadfast, and conscientious. Your grooming is impeccable. You are in good shape.
You are kind of a tool, but you get things done. You are probably a week away from snapping.
Addendum, 2004/07/19: this fits me 99%, there is a slight inaccuracy however. We are not necessarily completely unfunny. If we have a sense of humor (I do) it surfaces on the occasion with well-timed, completely dry, very sarcastic, wit. - Chase
Of the 47766 people who have taken this quiz since tracking began (8/17/2004), 7.3 % are this type.

Contrary to what some might think, I am NOT a Goth. I am NOT many things. We could talk all night.
I do however have a dark sense of humor. For example, I find this sig tag, titled, "At the End Of My Ropes," very funny considering its content and where I find myself at this particular turn in the road.

Goodnight children.

| STAIND |
| 10.23.04 (11:50 pm) |
|
Who would have ever thought I would find a Staind song I liked...
REALITY
the lights are on but you're not home you've drifted off somewhere alone somewhere that's safe, no questions here a quiet place where you hide from your fears
[chorus]
sometimes when you're out of rope the way to climb back up's unclear the walls you build around yourself i guess they also keep you here are you afraid of what they think? whoever "they" happen to be or are you hiding from the scars of your own reality?
so you sedate and drown in vain you've got a pill for every day a suit and tie to mask the truth its ugly head is starthing to show through
[chorus]
[bridge]
the monster you're feeding, your lack of perception the things you will do to fullfill addictions the light at the end of your tunnel is closing what is it that you're so afraid of exposing? you'd give it all up for what's there for the taking whatever it takes to keep your hands from shaking the same things you're thinking might make you feel better the same things that probably get you here
[chorus]
[bridge]

| Not Necessarily An Update |
| 10.23.04 (10:41 pm) |
|
What would you do if someone took something you loved and trashed it? What if they stepped on it, degraded it and made you feel - less than - for liking it? What if they didn't understand it? What if they didn't even want to try and understand it? What if they looked at you like you were filth when they did it? What would you do?

| Elections |
| 10.12.04 (11:56 am) |
|
This will mark the first time in my life where I wil not be voting in the Presidential election. i am sick with myself for not getting off my ass and registering in my new state.
Is there anyway in hell this state is going to give its electoral votes to Kerry?
NO.
That doesn't stop me from feeling guilty. It's not an excuse to not vote. It's laziness. Laziness that is going to help turn this country into a haven for far right wing nutjobs and far left wing nutjobs who oppose them - anyone remember the Weathermen? ...no thought not. It's not as if they are actually taught in school...
I digress, I hear more and more how this country is slowly being dominated by the right and by not participating in the process, I am letting that happen. Silence is consent.

I GET A THREE DAY WEEKEND!
I had no idea.
Working for a bank is awesome.
Sometimes.
Okay, almost never.
Holidays are good though.
I can't believe the people of Oklahoma are so excited about Columbus day that we continue to recognize it - you know, it really did indirectly cause all those forced death marches and what not.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that Columbus came to this country - if not my people would still be in Britain and Switzerland and ---- wait, okay, why the heck didn't he just stay in Italy?
Switzerland's lovely and that whole hating crazy pr otestants thing eventually worked itself out.
I know the Cherokee branch of my family tree would have preferred the situation.
But I digress, I get a holiday.

So I am at work, minding my own business and this guy comes up and starts "witnessing" to me. Jesus, yadda, yadda, yadda, tithing has been good for me, blah, blah, blah - you get the picture.
Then things really started to get weird~
I think he hit on me.
Now, telling a total stranger how Jesus changed your life is one thing, but while trying to get a loan at a bank and a date all at once - that's just bizarre on several different levels.

To get into Delphi Forums you have to sign up - it only takes a few minutes, but I know there are those of you out there who hate that sort of thing. You've been warned.
If ya still wanna go, I've added a permanent link in my sidebar, and I've embedded one in this blog.
